Meet Jimmy Olsen (no, really this time).

Two more actors have been confirmed for the upcoming Superman movie...Sam Huntington, an actor whose dubious credits include Jungle 2 Jungle, Detroit Rock City, Not Another Teen Movie and (ugh) Sleepover, has been cast as Jimmy Olsen, thus replacing Shawn Ashmore, who was previously believed to have been cast in the role. Personally, I think Ashmore would have been a better choice, but that's only becasue I've seen two movies with him in it, where I have yet to sit through a single Sam Huntington film. But he's been cast, so let's all get used to it.

Believe it or not, this was the best picture I could find of the guy (c/o Yahoo Movies). In everything else, he was either dressed up like a Jungle native, or decked out for a KISS concert.

Jimmy Olsen

Also cast, according to Entertainment Weekly, is James Marsden, who will be playing Richard White, son of Perry, and love interest for Lois Lane. Whiney (and occasionally weepy) Cyclops aside, I like Marsden, so this is an okay choice with me.

NATM is far worse a movie than Sleepover could ever be. I'd say it's the worst movie I've actually ever seen, and I've seen a few that are legendarily known as being bad (although I only ever saw a dozen or so episodes of MST3K, so I'm sure vets of that series have seen something worse.)

I can't judge either guy's acting. I haven't seen either X movie, I didn't even recognize Huntington in NATM, and his presence in Jungle 2 Jungle consisted of smiling while his tarantula danced on people's faces and walking around in public places wearing covering up only the necessaries. They seem to have equal screaming teenage girl appeal, although maybe someone decided that Ashmore has already gotten as popular as he will be on that front, especially with girls who will go to a comic book movie? Not sure.

Unfortunately, I'm not a comic guy or anything, so I have to ask if Olsen is supposed to be so close to Clark Kent's age? The Everything2 entry for the character calls him the cub reporter, which makes it seem like he should be a degree younger than Kent is. Ashmore is the same age as Routh, so maybe it looked a little weird to have one guy as the scrappy junior reporter who looks about as old as the "established" journalist in the suit and glasses?
